Montana Reder's Birthday plus,,,,

We finally made a trip to Bozeman to see our grandkids, and Jason and Katie too.  On Saturday there was an Easter egg hunt at the church.  Reder was really disappointed because all the candy was CHOCOLATE, and he does not like chocolate.  Takes after his Dad and Grandpa, I guess.  They even had real bunnies at the hunt.

It was Reder's 5th birthday while we were there.  Here Reder is hitting the pinata.  It took many, many hits from Reder and Ruby before the candy finally came out.  No chocolate this time.

Reder wanted a "rocket" birthday cake.  With help from both his Mom and Dad, he got his wish.  Now if he only liked cake it would help.  He wanted a strawberry cake which his Mom made but he only ate a little of the frosting.  We got to eat the rest.

His cousin Wally had worked hard on this banner for Reder's birthday.  It was just the right size for the mantle.  Good job Wally!

Jason and Katie gave Reder a new two wheel bicycle for his birthday.  Here is is trying it out in the family room.  When it warmed up outside he got to try it outside.  Papa moved the basket from his old bike to his new bike so it worked much better then.

We gave Reder a sleeping bag for his birthday, and gave Ruby her birthday present early since we won't be there to celebrate with her.  We figured they both needed a sleeping bag if they are going camping this summer.   Hope the bags keep them warm during the cool Montana nights.  Note Reder's birthday hat that he made in his preschool.

Reder's preschool had a field trip to the Museum of the Rockies while we were there so we got to be "parent" helpers.  Here is his class with the dinosaur outside the museum.  Think the kids had more fun outside than they did inside.

Ruby called her Grandma and Papa to her room.  She was all dressed up in her Halloween dinosaur costume and had to show us her kitchen.  Never quite know what to expect from her.

Here Ruby was all dressed for a tea party.  She worked hard to get the right number of plates and cups out for everyone.

When we go visit our kids, they usually have a project for us to do.  This time we helped take down a big cottonwood tree that had died from an early frost last year.  Jason climbed the tree to tie a rope up high so they could pull it over.  Then Randy used his chain saw to cut it  and a bunch of other wood they had around. It is always great to help the kids.
